Re: Keys to a successful roast

Almost 11, last can.  I was able to swap out a new one mid roast with no issues, so there is that as well;

Supposedly, the stove I have will run for 1.25 hours on high.  I usually have my heat down medium/low then low, average 12 minute roasts.

I love the butane, I don't really like the propane.  I feel like propane does not burn very hot.

Just be sure you don't get one of the new style of low swirl burners, they dont move enough air.
Low swirl is the new thing for burners, been in hot water heaters for a while.  Instead of mixing air and fuel, they pressurize behind a screen mantle and so you get a large surface area of flame that is very low, like 1/2 inch.  They reduce the amount on NOx that gas flames normally produce.

More info than you probably, needed, but just be sure that the stove you get does not have the screen burner, does not move enough air.

Thanks for the additional info, there is never too much in my opinion https://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/wink.png

I'm going to have to look into the Low Swirl Burner thing, never heard of it so I'm glad you mentioned it!!

I am currently using this...is that the "screen burner" you are referring too!?? Sorry, I have no Stove Burner knowledge, so forgive me for the many questions.

I guess to make this a bit simpler, what stove do you use, and what do you think of this one...I like it for its size and that it is mostly Stainless Steel.
